
Mountaineers Head to Cincinnati for Weekend Series

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 12 West Virginia University baseball team travels to Cincinnati for a Big 12 series, April 24-26. First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m. ET, Saturday for 3 p.m. ET, and Sunday for 1 p.m. ET.

The Mountaineers are 27-10 overall and 12-6 in the Big 12 after winning two of three against Houston last weekend. WVU currently sits in second place in the Big 12, two games behind Kansas.
Sophomore Gavin Kelly leads the Mountaineers with a .394 batting average and 34 RBI. Kelly, senior Matthew Graveline, and graduate student Sean Smith lead the team with five home runs while junior Armani Guzman has 24 stolen bases, most in the Big 12.
On the mound, graduate student Ian Korn will make his first start of the season. In 13 relief appearances, he is 3-0 with a 3.22 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 36.1 innings. Sophomore Chansen Cole leads the Big 12 with six wins and is coming off five no-hit innings against Houston.
