CINCINNATI, Ohio – The West Virginia University women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with Cincinnati at Gettler Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Thursday night.

In the team's final regular-season match of the 2026 campaign, the Mountaineers (9-4-4, 4-4-3 Big 12) and Bearcats were locked in a 90-minute defensive battle where neither team found the back of the net. Despite some quality chances towards the end of the match, neither team could score the go-ahead goal.

Despite the even scoreline, the final box score showed a dominant performance by West Virginia. The Mountaineers led in shots (16-9) and shots on goal (6-3), while Cincinnati took a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Redshirt senior goalkeeper Bailey Herfurth notched three saves on the way to her and the defense's eighth shutout of the season. Redshirt sophomore forward Alexis Ré paced the offense with five shots.

With the draw, WVU's lead in the all-time series with Cincinnati moves to 4-0-2.

The Mountaineers will now wait to see if they have done enough to qualify for the 2026 Big 12 Tournament, as official seeding for the tournament will be determined after all games have completed Thursday night. The conference tournament begins on Monday, Nov. 9, at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium in Mansfield, Texas.
