Vilain Signs Professional Contract with Le Mans FC

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Defender Roxanne Vilain of the West Virginia University women's soccer team has signed a professional contract with Le Mans FC in France's Seconde Ligue.
Vilain becomes the 46th professional Mountaineer in program history and the second from the 2025 senior class, as she follows classmate Taylor White who signed a contract with Racing Louisville FC in the NWSL in January.
The Montreal, Quebec, Canada, native joined the Mountaineer roster in 2024 and played in 31 games for WVU, starting 29. A prominent force in West Virginia's back line, Vilain finished her career with 2,453 minutes played, including 1,778 in 2025 to rank second on the team. She also started every match in 2025, helping the defense record 11 shutouts on the year. Vilain recorded her first point in gold and blue with an assist on White's second of two goals in a 3-0 win over Akron on Aug. 21.
At season's end, Vilain was named to the Fall Academic All-Big 12 First Team. She also was honored as the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 17.
Vilain graduated with her master's degree in sports management in December.
