MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team lost to Oklahoma State, 10-1, on Saturday in 11 innings at Kendrick Family Ballpark. The Mountaineers drop to 15-12 and 4-4 in the Big 12 while the Cowboys go to 18-9 and 5-3 in conference play.

Both starting pitchers – WVU's Derek Clark and OSU's Brian Holiday – gave up just one run in the game. Clark struck out six as he went nine innings for the second straight outing while Holiday punched out five in eight innings.

Senior Reed Chumley hit his sixth home run of the season for the Mountaineers, a solo shot in the first inning, but that was all the runs that WVU could muster for the game. Freshman Michael Perazza added two hits for the Mountaineers.

After Oklahoma State tied the game up in the eighth inning on a run-scoring double play, the Mountaineers had a chance in the ninth as they put two runners on but could not push across the winning run.

The game unraveled for West Virginia in the 11^th inning as the Cowboys scored nine runs to take a commanding lead.

One bright spot for WVU came late in the game as sophomore Logan Sauve pinch hit for his first action in four weeks after recovering from a knee injury.

The Mountaineers will look to salvage the series on Sunday with first pitch set for 1 p.m.
