Nic Bankston is in his first year as a member of the Mountaineer Football staff as an assistant director of scouting.
In his role, he plays a part in scouting and recruiting and assists with the on-campus recruiting process. Bankston assists in the oversight of the scouting department student assistant program and the management of the portal best-available board throughout the season. He also helps organize the transfer portal prospects, identifying potential transfer options.
Bankston assists in the creation of in-season advance reports used to scout opponents. He helps evaluate players on the WVU roster and other Big 12 rosters to analyze and identify strengths and weaknesses of the rosters.
Bankston came to West Virginia from Jacksonville State, where he served as a scouting/recruiting assistant for two years and was an equipment manager for two years. He also handled the setup and management of the CoachComm system on game day.
The Nauvoo, Alabama, native earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Jacksonville State in 2024 and his master’s degree in business administration in 2025.
