Madison Clayton joined the Mountaineer Athletic Club in April 2022 as assistant director of development, operations, and special events, and currently serves as its director of donor relations & communications.
In June 2023, she was promoted to associate director of leadership annual giving and special events, where she supported the men’s soccer program in securing funding for its locker room, managed sport enhancement fund tracking and fulfillment, and coordinated all MAC events. The following month, Madison served as interim director of stewardship and special events, focusing on stewardship and engagement opportunities for society donors.
In August 2024, she was elevated to her current role. In this position, she oversees stewardship for all MAC donors, manages donor events, and leads the MAC’s external communications, including email, social media, and other platforms.
A former student-athlete, Madison played three seasons of soccer at the University of Pittsburgh before transferring to Ohio University for her final season in 2021.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Pitt and gained experience through an internship with Pitt’s media relations department and a graduate assistantship in student-athlete development at Ohio. In recognition of her athletic achievements, she was recently inducted into her high school’s hall of fame.
Clayton currently resides in Morgantown.
