Patrick McCain is in his first year as a member of the Mountaineer Football staff as the assistant director of football operations.
In his role, he supports the assistant athletics director for football operations with away game travel, including the travel party, bus list, rooming lists, air travel, police escort and hotel logistics.
McCain manages the day-to-day team calendar while he assists with the planning and coordination of events hosted by football including summer camps, coaches’ clinics and other special events. He serves as the point of contact for mass communication with players and staff. He also assists with player/parent-guardian communications and planning meals for the training table.
He came to West Virginia after serving as the assistant director of football operations at Jacksonville State for three years. He also served as the director of football operations as a graduate assistant for two seasons. Prior to that he was a student assistant in the areas of recruiting, operations, offense and social media.
The native of Orlando, Florida graduated from Jacksonville State with his bachelor’s degree in public relations in 2020 and his master’s degree in sport management in 2022.
