
Mountaineers Finish Road Trip at Texas Tech

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (14–10, 2–10 Big 12) will wrap its Texas road trip at Texas Tech (10-14, 2-10 Big 12) on Wednesday, Nov. 12 in Lubbock. The match will be held inside United Supermarkets Arena with first serve scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
This marks the 28th all-time meeting between the Mountaineers and the Red Raiders, with Texas Tech leading the series 18-9. WVU has not beaten Texas Tech since 2020.
The Mountaineers look to rebound and finish the three-game road trip on a strong note after dropping their last match to then-No.16 TCU.
Statistically, West Virginia enters the match ranked top five in the Big 12 conference in three categories. It is third in hitting percentage (.255), and fifth in total blocks (212.0) and service aces (130).
Individually, redshirt junior setter Alexis Finnvold ranks third in the conference in service aces (40) and aces per set (0.43). Junior middle blocker Maddy McGath stands fifth in hitting percentage (.353). Senior middle blocker Laila Ibrahim ranks 13th in total blocks (94.0) and 11th in blocks per set (1.12). Senior libero LonDynn Betts is fifth in total digs with 337.
Texas Tech comes into the game with a record of 10-14 and a conference record of 2-10, dropping their last match to Arizona on Nov. 7. Led by head coach Tony Graystone in his tenth year as head coach, he has a career record of 580-315.
