
West Virginia Volleyball Releases 2026 Nonconference Slate

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the 2026 nonconference volleyball schedule.
West Virginia will participate in four tournaments, hosting two for the first time since 2019. Eight of the 10 teams that West Virginia will play finished over .500 last season and two made the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

The Mountaineers will begin the 2026 season at home for the Country Roads Classic. WVU's new home tournament will take place Aug. 28-30 in Hope Coliseum. On Friday, WVU will face off against the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) at 6 p.m. The squad will get the day off Saturday before finishing the weekend against UMBC on Sunday at Noon.
West Virginia will then head down to Fort Myers to play in the Sunshine State Classic, hosted by FGCU, on Sept. 4-5. The Mountaineers open against Florida Atlantic University on Friday at 1 p.m. WVU closes out tournament against the host school, FGCU, on Saturday at 2 p.m.
WVU returns home for the West Virginia Invitational on Sept. 10-11. The Mountaineers will battle VCU on Thursday at 5 p.m., followed by a double header to close the tournament on Friday, Sept.11. West Virginia will play Lehigh at 11 a.m. and then Toledo at 7 p.m.
The Mountaineers conclude the nonconference schedule at the 2026 UNT Invitational, hosted by North Texas on Sept. 17-19 in Denton, Texas. WVU will take on East Texas A&M on Thursday with a 5 p.m. first serve. On Friday evening, West Virginia meets North Texas at 8 p.m. Then, the squad concludes nonconference play against Tarleton State on Saturday at noon.
WVU's 2026 Big 12 schedule was released in April and can be found online at WVUsports.com.
Ticket information for the home tournaments and conference matches will be announced at a later date.
