Reed Collins joined the Mountaineer football staff as the assistant director of creative video in July 2025.
Collins writes, produces and directs the football program’s video projects, including recruiting materials, web features and hype videos. He also assists with the oversight, production and management of content for the football program’s social media platforms and digital information strategies. He works creatively to develop innovative digital and social media strategies to increase engagement with fans.
He came to WVU from Mississippi State, where he was the director of creative video. Working with all sports, Collins was responsible for the oversight of primary creative video. His duties consisted of mentoring creative video students, maintaining brand look and ideal messaging for the fanbase and tracking and growing social engagement.
He also spent time at Lenoir-Rhyne as the creative video director. Collins led the execution on all digital content for the Bears athletic programs by guiding the creative team to create, design and execute content and strategy while assisting in the overall website and social media strategy.
The Farmington, Minnesota, native earned his associate’s degree from Ellsworth Community College, where he was a member of the baseball team. In his career, he was a two-time academic all-region second-team honoree and a participant in the 2018 International Power Showcase Home Run Derby. He transferred to Lake Erie College in 2019 where he finished his baseball career in 2021 and earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management marketing in December 2021.
