Derek Stahl joined LEARFIELD Ticket and Seat Solutions at WVU in January 2016 and has been serving his current role as General Manager since August 2021.
As general manager, he oversees the outbound sales and service efforts of the LEARFIELD team, including development and implementation of effective sales strategies to drive sales revenue through season tickets, partial plans and group outing for all WVU Varsity sports.
During his tenure at WVU, the outbound sales team has won Property of the Year award in 2016 and 2018 among 41 schools nationwide. The group won the 2016 Group Sales Property of the Year after selling 25,000-plus group tickets to Mountaineer events. Stahl was named as Seller of the Year and Top Group Sales AE for the company in 2018.
Prior to West Virginia, he spent a year with the Houston Astros as part of their inside sales team. During his tenure with the Astros, the insides sales program set an all-time record generating more than $2.94 million in revenue.
The Wheeling native earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from West Virginia University in 2013. Stahl and his wife, Madison, reside in Morgantown.
