Brett Collins is the assistant director of information technology for West Virginia University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. His role in athletics began in 2024 after spending the last 12 years working in West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media.
Collins is responsible for assisting with end-user and on-site support, assists with all software and hardware purchases for athletics and interacts on a daily basis with West Virginia University’s campus information technology department.
He also assists with game-day scanner support for all ticketed home athletic events and assists with first-tier support for West Virginia’s Paciolan Ticketing System.
Collins has 25 years of computer desk side support experience in PC and MAC environments with eight years of network installation and troubleshooting experience, including working with Cisco equipment. Most recently, he provided 24-hour support for all technology functions at the Reed College of Media.
The Elizabeth, West Virginia, native's prior work experience includes a four-year stint working at West Virginia University’s Office of Information Technology.
Collins earned a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University-Parkersburg in 2004 in applied technology and an associates of applied science degree in computer information technology from WVU-Parkersburg in 2002.
Collins and his wife Tracy reside in Morgantown with their two children Brady and Karli.
