No. 22 WVU Welcomes Duquesne for Dogs at Dlesk on Sunday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 22-ranked West Virginia University women's soccer team caps its three-game homestand when it plays host to Duquesne on Sunday, Aug. 23. Kickoff at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET.
It's WVU's annual Dogs at Dlesk match, and fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to enjoy a Sunday afternoon cheering on the Mountaineers. There will be a WVU soccer pet bandana giveaway for the first 150 dogs in attendance. All dogs will be allowed entry into the game with a signed waiver and proof of vaccination records.
Single-game tickets are available to purchase in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU GAME. When purchasing online, tickets are $12 each. Any remaining tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors at the stadium ticket window on match day.
New for the 2026 season, all student tickets for WVU's Olympic sports will transition to mobile delivery. Students will now be required to log in to their WVUGAME.com account to reserve a student ticket for each home athletics event. For Olympic sports, there is no request process. Students will simply log in to their account using the single sign-on functionality, navigate to the sport of the event they would like to attend and reserve a ticket.
Andrew Caridi and Michael Minnich have the call of Sunday's contest on ESPN+. The game also can be heard on 91.7 FM (WWVU) in Morgantown, and live stats are available at WVUsports.com.
Sunday's matchup marks the 15th all-time meeting between West Virginia and Duquesne, as the Mountaineers hold a 12-0-2 advantage in the series. The Dukes were just the second team Nikki Izzo-Brown's infant Mountaineers ever played, as they met on Sept. 4, 1996, in WVU's first season of competition. The two squads battled to a 1-1 tie in overtime in Pittsburgh.
Since that first matchup, West Virginia has beaten Duquesne in every matchup but one, a Sept. 6, 2011, contest which resulted in a 1-1, double overtime draw. The two programs last met on Aug. 28, 2025, with the Mountaineers coming away with a 3-0 win at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
Jessica Giegucz is in her second season as the head women's soccer coach at Duquesne. She led the Dukes to a 12-5-2 record in her first campaign in 2025. Duquesne enters Sunday's contest with a 1-1 record so far in 2026, coming off a 3-0 win at Cleveland State on Aug. 20. Four different players have scored for Duquesne this year, while five players have tallied at least one assist. In goal, Ali Hughes has registered seven saves on the season.
