
Mountaineers Head to Lock Haven for Regular Season Finale

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 17 West Virginia University wrestling team ends the 2025-26 regular season on the road against Lock Haven on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Thomas Fieldhouse in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.
The match will be streamed on PSAC Sports Network. In the eighth season under head coach Tim Flynn, the Mountaineers have arguably put together one of their best years since joining the Big 12 Conference.
West Virginia (10-5, 5-3 Big 12) eclipsed 10 dual wins for the fourth consecutive season, marking just the second time in program history that feat has been accomplished. Its five dual wins against Big 12 opponents are the most for the program since the conference expanded.
West Virginia's three wins against ranked opponents are the most under Flynn and the most since 2018. West Virginia is 3-5 overall against ranked teams.
The Mountaineers enter their final weekend with freshman No. 15 Gunner Andrick (133) leading the team with 21 individual victories. He is tied for the team lead with redshirt sophomore No. 8 Ty Watters (157) with seven wins against ranked opponents.
Watters is second on the team with 18 victories this year, as he has only stumbled twice to be 18-2 overall. He leads the team with 12 wins in dual competition.
Overall, there are seven wrestlers with at least 15 victories this season. Four wrestlers have five or more wins against ranked opponents.
This is the first meeting between West Virginia and Lock Haven since 2023. The Mountaineers lead the all-time series, 24-15.
