MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Approximately 1,500 students showed up last night for Ballin' at Woodburn, a preview of the West Virginia University men's and women's basketball teams.
Among those impressed with the atmosphere and turnout on Friday night was West Virginia University president Michael T. Benson, posting on X, "Not sure there is a cooler venue for a team preview than in front of Woodburn Hall."
The Mountaineer men's team will take on Wheeling University Sunday afternoon in an exhibition game that will tip off at 4 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN+ (Andrew Caridi, Warren Baker and Amanda Mazey).
Mountaineer Sports Network from Learfield with Tony Caridi and Brad Howe will also provide radio coverage on affiliates throughout West Virginia, online via WVUsports.com and the Varsity Network and WVU Gameday apps.
The WVU women will have an exhibition game against Fairmont State immediately afterward. The event is free and there will be no television and radio coverage.
Season tickets for the men's and women's teams remain on sale through the Mountaineer Ticket Office and can be purchased by logging on to WVUGAME.com.
