Matt Waggoner serves as Director of Development, Annual Giving for the Mountaineer Athletic Club. He returned to Morgantown to assume the role of senior account executive for West Virginia University’s Learfield Amplify Ticket Solutions back in March 2021. He began his career in September 2018 as a marketing intern for WVU’s IMG Sports before moving inside the ticket office as an intern with the West Virginia Black Bears minor league baseball team towards the middle of 2018.

Waggoner joins the Mountaineers after working in the same role for Penn State University Athletics from 2019 to the beginning of 2021. There, he was responsible for building relationships with ticket holders towards growth of season to season tickets sales.

Prior to living in State College, Pennsylvania, Waggoner was a full-time intern inside the Pittsburgh Steelers ticket office for five months to close out 2018.

The Reston, Virginia, native graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports market and supply chain management from Duquesne University in 2019 and completed a master’s degree in supply chain management from Georgetown University in May 2022.
