Cory Chambers joined the Mountaineer Athletic Club in January 2024 as its senior director of development. Chambers will work toward securing major and principal gifts, as well as working on capital projects and endowing student – athlete scholarships.
Chambers joins the MAC after spending 5 years at the WVU Cancer Institute, serving as the Director of Development. In his time there, he oversaw various areas of development from annual to the major and principal gift levels which generated over 20 million dollars.
Chambers also has experience in events and stewardship. While at the WVU Cancer Institute he oversaw the Norma Mae Huggins Endowment and the annual Fish Fry that saw 3,000 plus attendees and generated more than 10 million in revenue for the endowment fund.
In his first 5 years at WVU, Chambers worked in the central annual giving office at the WVU Foundation overseeing the call center and various other annual fund initiatives including student philanthropy, crowdfunding and helped to implement WVU’s first Day of Giving.
Originally from Richwood West Virigina, Chambers received his bachelor’s degree from WVU, and is currently working on his masters in sports management.
He resides in Morgantown.
