Cindy Smith returned to athletics in September 2021 as an administrative assistant in the athletic compliance office. She previously worked in compliance with the primary responsibility of processing athletic awards, a role she held from the fall of 2016 until 2020.
 
Previously, Smith had served in an administrative capacity for all WVU sports, with the exception of football and men’s basketball, since 1981. The Morgantown native and University High graduate and her husband, Sam, have three children: Drew, Lance and Sammy. 
 
They reside in Morgantown.
