WVU Completes Play at The Gopher with Top Half Finish

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team completed play at The Gopher Invitational in Independence, Minnesota, with a sixth place finish on Monday.

The Mountaineers finished with three golfers in the Top 25 with junior Nick Turowski leading the way. Turowski finished tied for 13th place (73-73-69=215) at +2 after his 2-under-par 69 in the final round.

Junior Aidan Dortch finished one shot back at +3 and tied for 19th place after shooting 73-72-72=216, while freshman Hogan Blais was one shot behind Dortch at +4 (73-72-72=217) to finish tied for 21st place.

Sophomore Jack Michael tied for 36^th place (71-73-77=221) at +8 and junior Ryan Leach shot +11 for the event with rounds of 72-75-77=224. Sophomore Brody Burgess competed as an individual and shot 73-77-83=233 (+20).

West Virginia tied Marquette in the team standings for sixth place in the 15-team field. The Mountaineers shot 289-287-290=866 (+14).
