
Three Mountaineers Set for NCAA Outdoor Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Three members of the West Virginia University track and field team are set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
Joy Naukot, Mercy Kinyanjui and Annishka McDonald will represent the Mountaineers on the national stage after qualifying through the NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Kentucky.
Naukot is scheduled to compete in the 10,000 meters on Thursday, June 11, after earning an automatic qualification with a runner-up finish at the East First Round. The appearance marks her second trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Kinyanjui will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Thursday, June 11, after placing eighth at the East First Round to secure her place in the national field.
McDonald is set to compete in the high jump on Saturday, June 13. The sophomore qualified for nationals with a fourth-place finish at the East First Round, clearing 1.82 meters.
