Mountaineers Set for NCAA East First Round

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team travels to Lexington, Kentucky, for the 2026 NCAA East First Round.
Eight Mountaineers are set to compete at the regional meet, including Joy Naukot, Anastasia Chepkorir, Lexi Lamb and Emily Bryce in the 10,000 meters, Mercy Kinyanjui and Ronis Chelangat in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Kishay Rowe in the 800 meters and Annishka McDonald in the high jump.
Kishay Rowe is scheduled to compete in the 800-meter first round on May 28 at 7:50 p.m., while the 10,000 meters is set for 9:10 p.m. on the same evening. On May 30, Annishka McDonald is set to compete in the high jump at 2 p.m., followed by the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 5:40 p.m. and the quarterfinals of the 800 meters at 7:05 p.m.
West Virginia most recently competed at the Big 12 Conference Outdoor Championships in Tucson, Arizona, where the Mountaineers earned four All-Big 12 honors.
Joy Naukot, Emily Bryce and Anastasia Chepkorir each earned all-conference recognition in the 10,000 meters, while Mercy Kinyanjui secured All-Big 12 honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
