
WVU Collects Event Wins at Mountaineer Showcase

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia turned in a strong showing at the Mountaineer Showcase, earning multiple event wins across the track and field events.
Eva Craigie led WVU in the sprints, winning the 100 meters in 12.25 and adding a third-place finish in the 200 meters (25.76). Izayah Everett placed second in the 200 (25.25), while Sierra Heisey finished eighth in both the 100 (13.31) and 200 (27.28).
In the hurdles, Lily Haught won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.38, while Olivia Cress placed second in the 100-meter hurdles (14.49). Cress also added a win in the high jump, clearing 1.70 meters.
West Virginia found success in the middle-distance events, as Mary Delaney captured the 800 meters in 2:11.18. Eva Rinker (3rd, 2:15.26) and Audrey Hall (4th, 2:20.19) also scored top-four finishes.
In the 1,500 meters, Aislinn Frazer led a strong WVU group with a personal-best time of 4:33.27 to take first place. Tatiana Moura placed third (4:35.30), followed by Alyssa Sauro in fourth (4:36.41).
Mae Nelson placed second in the 400 meters (58.44), while Cate Pickering (3rd, 58.71) and Audrey Thomas (4th, 1:00.05) rounded out the Mountaineers' top finishes.
In the field events, Sabria Jones recorded a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.48 meters.
