
West Virginia Hosts Oklahoma State for Senior Day

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No 24-ranked West Virginia University women's soccer team prepares to celebrate its seniors when it welcomes Oklahoma State to Morgantown on Sunday, Oct. 26. Kickoff at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium is slated for 12 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU.
Sunday's match is Senior Day, and the Mountaineers will honor four senior members of the team for their contributions to the squad over the past four seasons. Plus, help make a difference in the community by taking part in our canned food drive, presented by Kroger. Donations will be collected at the stadium entrance to benefit local families in need.
Parking around Hope Coliseum and Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium will be limited due to multiple events taking place on Sunday. Fans should plan to arrive early to avoid any parking delays at the Coliseum complex.
Single-game tickets are available to purchase in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU GAME. When purchasing online, tickets are $10 each. Any remaining tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors at the stadium ticket window on match day.
WVU student tickets also will be made available at the Mountaineer Ticket Office, located at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The office, as well as the stadium gates, opens at 11 a.m., on game day. WVU students are admitted for free with a valid WVU Student I.D.
Jonathan Yardley and Paddy Foss will have the call of Sunday's nationally broadcast match on ESPNU. Of note, the broadcast of the Oklahoma State game will mark the first nationally broadcast match in Morgantown since 2022. The game also can be heard on 91.7 FM (WWVU) in Morgantown, and live stats are available at WVUsports.com.
Sunday's match marks the 16th meeting all-time between West Virginia and Oklahoma State, while it is the first matchup since 2023 as the two teams did not face one another last season. The Mountaineers are 11-3-1 overall and 5-2 in games played in Morgantown in the series. In the last meeting between the two squads, West Virginia tallied a 1-0 win at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Oct. 8, 2023. Taylor White scored the lone goal in the match, putting the Mountaineers ahead with the game-winning score in the 68th minute.
West Virginia is coming off a 1-0 win over Iowa State on Oct. 23. Junior midfielder Anna Hauer scored the lone goal in the contest, skipping a ball across the box for the go-ahead score in the 22nd minute for her second goal of the season. Senior forward Taylor White was credited with the assist on the goal, her team-leading eighth helper of the year.
West Virginia dominated the final box score, leading 19-5 in shots, 7-3 in shots on goal and 10-3 in corner kicks. Redshirt junior goalkeeper Bailey Herfurth and the Mountaineer defense registered their ninth shutout of the season and first since Oct. 5 against Arizona State. Herfurth tallied three saves in the clean sheet.
White leads the team with 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points on the year. She ranks No. 2 in the Big 12 and No. 12 nationally in total points this season. She is the first Mountaineer to tally double-digit goals in a season since Michaela Abam scored 10 in 2017.
Colin Carmichael is in his 21st year as the head women's soccer coach at Oklahoma State. The Cowgirls enter Sunday's matchup with a 4-11-2 record so far in 2024, with the squad coming off a 1-0 loss at Cincinnati on Oct. 23. Xcaret Pineda leads the Cowgirls offense so far this season with five goals and 12 points. In goal, Logan Marks has registered 82 saves on the year.
