Michael Honeywell joined West Virginia University athletics in June 2021 as the assistant athletics director for ticket operations.
In this role, Honeywell will direct the daily operations of the Mountaineer Ticket Office. He will plan and administer the sale, allocation and distribution of all ticketed athletics events and serve at the primary ticket liaison with the Mountaineer Athletic Club regarding priority seating plans and customer service. He will oversee the ticket office staff, work directly with the athletics business office and manage the department's usage of the Paciolan ticketing system with a strong emphasis on digital/mobile ticketing.
Honeywell comes to West Virginia from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was the director of ticket sales and service for the Ivy League school. At Penn, he was responsible for all ticket office operations in historic venues such as the Palestra and Franklin Field, while handling ticket sales and operations for the prestigious Penn Relays, which is the nation's largest and oldest outdoor track and field event.
Starting in the Penn ticket office in 2015, he became the assistant director in 2016 before assuming the lead role in 2018. Prior to Penn, Honeywell spent time at Temple with the Owl Club and as a wrestling manager at East Stroudsburg from 2013-15.
The Flourtown, Pennsylvania, native earned his bachelor's degree in sport management from East Stroudsburg and competed for the Warriors in wrestling from 2011-13. He went on to obtain his master's degree in sport management from Drexel in 2019.
