Keaton Black joined Mountaineer athletics in June 2024 and serves as assistant director of athletics compliance. In this role, he is responsible for assuring that the athletics department complies with all applicable rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big 12 and West Virginia University. His primary sports responsibilities are men’s soccer, wrestling, women’s track and cross country, rowing, golf and assists with football.
Black most recently served as a compliance graduate assistant in the University of Arkansas athletic department and was responsible for monitoring the participation reports for the Razorbacks’ 19 sports and designing rules education newsletters for coaches and student-athletes.
His duties also involved monitoring coaches, staff and players’ complimentary tickets in ARMS while assigning and monitoring IAWP and manager forms through the same system.
His professional experience includes a graduate assistantship in Razorback Athletics’ marketing department where he served as the primary marketing contact for track and field.
Prior to that, he served stints as a student worker in ticketing for Rice and marketing at Texas A&M.
Black earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in sport management in 2022 and graduated with his master’s degree in recreation & sport management from the University of Arkansas in 2024.
He resides in Morgantown.
