Doug Wallace joined the Mountaineer Athletic Club staff in June 2017 as director of development and was recently promoted to associate athletics director for athletics development. In this role, Wallace is responsible for the management of the MAC's Leadership Giving Society of $50,000-plus donations. He also oversees capital campaigns, endowments and planned giving programs while working collaboratively with deputy director of athletics Ben Murray and senior associate athletic director John Patterson on the MAC's fundraising strategies and philosophies.
Wallace joined the MAC after spending six years with Marshall’s Big Green Scholarship Foundation, serving as the associate director of development his final two years there. In that capacity, he managed the Big Green Premium Seating & Parking program, directed the Herd Athletic Fund, which generated more than $520,000 in revenue for the Big Green, the Big Green Courtesy Car Program, the Scholarship Endowment Program and the Charlie Slack Legacy Society. Wallace also led the Huntington and Charleston Quarterback Clubs, managed Marshall’s Dugout Club, which exceeded fundraising goals three straight years (2014-16), and helped establish the 110% Club, responsible for generating nearly $400,000 in new revenue for the scholarship fund.
In his first four years at Marshall, Wallace served as the assistant director of development, where he oversaw research, planning and implementation of the 2014 Marshall Athletics Reseating and Reparking Program. He also assisted in the stewardship of Football Enhancement Fund members and assisted with the creation and publication of the Big Green Annual Fund brochure.
Prior to his time in Huntington, Wallace spent two years as the development associate/Student Flames Club president for the Flames Club at Liberty. While there, he worked closely with the director of athletics development & Flames Club. As president of the Student Flames Club in 2009, he led a staff, which set records in 2009 for number of students enrolled in the SFC and revenue produced. Additionally, he managed the Flames Club Courtesy Car Program.
Wallace also spent six months as an assistant to senior associate athletics director for internal operations for Liberty Athletics.
Wallace received his bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2008 from Liberty, where he also was member of the Flames’ baseball program. He earned his MBA from Liberty in 2019.
Wallace and his wife, Dr. Jenna Wallace, have three daughters - Brynlee, Bray and Bellamy.
