Mountaineers Announce 2026 Cross Country Schedule

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the 2026 cross country schedule, featuring seven meets across Pennsylvania, Indiana, Wisconsin and Oklahoma.
West Virginia opens the season Sept. 11 at the RMU Invitational in Clinton, Pa., before traveling to Terre Haute, Ind., for the John McNichols Invitational on Sept. 19.
The Mountaineers will compete at two meets during the Oct. 9-10 weekend, with a portion of the squad traveling to Madison, Wis., for the Nuttycombe Invitational on Oct. 9, while the remainder of the team heads to Clinton, Pa., for the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Oct. 10.
The postseason begins Oct. 31, when WVU travels to Stillwater, Okla., for the Big 12 Championship. The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional follows on Nov. 13 in Bethlehem, Pa.
West Virginia will close out the season at the NCAA Championship on Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Mountaineers are coming off a successful 2025 campaign that saw the team capture its second consecutive NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship and finish ninth at the NCAA Championship, while Joy Naukot earned All-America honors.
