Football Season Ticket Holder Gift & Pat White Number Retirement Game Announced

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced a commemorative gift for WVU football season ticket holders for the upcoming 2026 season.
In honor of the number retirement of Mountaineer football legend Pat White, traditional season ticket holders will receive a commemorative ticket enclosed in an acrylic case, signifying the date on which the retirement ceremony will take place.
Pat White's No. 5 will forever be enshrined with fellow Mountaineer legends on Sept. 5, 2026 at the WVU vs. Coastal Carolina football game.
WVU Athletics officially announced the retirement of No. 5 on June 5.
All traditional season ticket holders who have purchased season tickets or complete their purchase prior to Aug. 1 will receive the commemorative ticket item shipped directly to their account address on file at no charge. Mobile pass season ticket holders are not be eligible for the commemorative item. If mobile pass season ticket holders would like to upgrade to traditional season tickets by Aug. 1, they can do so by calling a member of the Mountaineer Ticket Sales and Service team at 1-800-WVU GAME to become eligible to receive the item if they upgrade to traditional season tickets.
