
Mountaineers Claim Multiple Wins at Sykes & Sabock Challenge

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team posted a strong showing at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge, highlighted by event victories in the 1,000 meters and 3,000 meters, along with several podium finishes.
Mary Delaney led the Mountaineers with a first-place finish in the 1,000 meters, crossing the line in 2:51.17. Eva Rinker followed with a third-place finish in the event at 2:55.95.
Tatiana Moura added another win for WVU, capturing first place in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:40.70. Aislinn Frazer finished 12th in the event at 10:12.68.
Lily Haught led WVU in the 400 meters, placing fourth with a time of 56.66 seconds. Cate Pickering finished 13th in 57.43, while Mae Nelson (26th, 59.46) and Audrey Thomas (28th, 1:00.44) rounded out the event.
Ella White earned a podium finish for the Mountaineers, placing second in the 600 meters with a time of 1:34.60.
In sprint events, Izayah Everett led WVU in the 200 meters with a 10th-place finish at 25.15. Eva Craigie paced the Mountaineers in the 60 meters, finishing 20th in 7.85 seconds.
In the field, Annishka McDonald recorded a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.78 meters. Olivia Cress added a top-10 finish in the long jump, placing 10th with a mark of 5.52 meters.
