
McDonald Sets School Record, Naukot Finishes Second at Big 12 Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia was led by a school record performance from Annishka McDonald and runner-up finish from Joy Naukot at the Big 12 Indoor Championships.
McDonald placed third in the high jump with a personal best clearance of 1.84 meters to set a new WVU indoor school record and earn All-Big 12 recognition.
Naukot secured All-Big 12 honors with a second place in the 5,000 meters, crossing in 15:52.13. Anastasia Chepkorir added a 10th place finish in 16:38.87.
Olivia Cress earned All-Big 12 honors in the pentathlon finishing ninth in the pentathlon with a personal best 3,994 points, while Eva Craigie recorded a personal best 5.48 meters in the long jump.
The distance medley relay team of Mary Delaney, Mercy Kinyanjui, Kishay Rowe and Lily Haught also garnered All-Big 12 recognition with a fifth place finish in 11:24.88.
On Saturday, Kinyanjui led WVU in the 3,000 meters with a 10th place finish (9:15.05). The Mountaineers closed the meet in the 4x400 meter relay, where Rowe, Cress, Haught and Cate Pickering ran a personal best 3:34.14, the second fastest time in program history.
