
West Virginia Kicks Off Outdoor Season in Morgantown and Tampa

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team begins the 2025 outdoor campaign on March 21-22 with the Marty Pushkin and USF Alumni Invitationals.
West Virginia hosts their first home meet of the season with the Marty Pushkin Invitational. The meet held at the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown, West Virginia as Friday and Saturday's competition are both set to begin at 10 a.m. ET.
Additionally, the Mountaineers will compete at the USF Alumni Invitational in Tampa, Florida which will take place at the USF Track & Field Stadium. Friday's competition will start off at 10 a.m., followed by a 11 a.m. start on Saturday.

WVU returns to the outdoor track after finishing 14th at the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Mountaineers went on to send three student athletes to the NCAA East Preliminary Round, where alumna Mikenna Vanderheyden finished ninth in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase and received an automatic bid to the NCAA Outdoor Championship.
Vanderheyden boasted a personal best time of 9:59.90 at the national championship, landing in 14th place while earning Second Team All-American honors.
