MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team capped its season off with a strong national showing, placing ninth at the 2025 NCAA Championship at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri, scoring 280 team points.

Sophomore Joy Naukot led the Mountaineers with a 12^th place finish in 18:59.6, earning All-American honors for the second time in her career. Redshirt sophomore Mercy Kinyanjui finished 45^th in 19:29.1, while redshirt freshman Naomi Kemboi placed 56^th in 19:36.

Junior Lexi Lamb placed 95^th in 19:55.6, and redshirt senior Emily Bryce finished 126^th in 20:05.4. Sophomore Anastasia Chepkorir crossed in 139^th place at 20:10.5 and redshirt senior Tatiana Moura rounded out the team with a 232^nd place finish in 21:01.9.

The Mountaineers conclude their season ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region and No. 9 nationally.
